We know our customers expect the best, so we ship our fruit directly to them. Our direct-to-consumer approach means that Calimoya™ cherimoyas never suffer the ill effects of prolonged cold storage, premature harvesting, or over handling. Location, location, location…

The cherimoya was first cultivated, centuries ago, by the Incas in the Andes Mountain range. They expressed their pleasure in the fruit by calling it the “Fruit of the Gods”. Like cherimoyas’, native South American habitat, the foothills of Santa Barbara, California where Calimoyas™ are grown, offer rich mountain soil, and a unique coastal micro-climate that cherimoyas love.

Our groves are nestled in the south-facing slopes of the Santa Ynez Mountains. During the day, as the sun travels East to West, our trees receive long days of southern light. Every tree is pruned to take advantage of this warm southern exposure. Meanwhile the trees soak up the moist coastal air that circulates among the hillsides.

Specially selected trees

We choose special varieties of trees, and then cultivate them with great hands-on care all season long. This gives Calimoya™ cherimoyas a distinctly delicious flavor that Calimoya™ customers recognize, much as an enthusiastic wine drinker can identify the flavors of their favorite grape and its specific appellations.

Environmental stewardship

We use neither pesticides nor herbicides. To prevent erosion and to control weeds,, we cultivate cover crops of clover and native grasses. Composting helps to nourish the rich, loamy soil in which Calimoya™ cherimoyas thrive. To ensure great crops season after season we cater to each tree’s arietal needs with the application of special organic nutrients, pruning techniques, and hand pollination procedures. Calimoya™ is a recognized regional leader in the promotion of sustainable agriculture, and we are always innovating to improve our production and the quality of the land.
